February 25, 2017 - Tyler Heads to Volusia for DIRTcar Nationals
On Monday night Tyler Bruening returned to action at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) for the 46th annual UMP DIRTcar Nationals. In a field of 43 cars, Bruening qualified sixth fastest in his group before registering a 10th place finish in his heat. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the $7,000-to-win opening night feature, Tyler gained six spots in the 10-lap consolation event but came short of a transfer position with a 7th place outing.

Returning on Tuesday for another $7,000-to-win feature, Bruening logged a 6th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top 3 to make the show, Tyler held his spot for all 10-laps logging a 5th place finish.

With the weather cancelling both Wednesday and Thursday’s events, Bruening resumed action at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on Friday for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned shows. Holding his 5th-starting spot for all 8-laps in his heat, Tyler transferred into the B-Main with the 4th-starting position. Taking the Top 2, Bruening made a last-lap charge at the final transfer spot but came up short with a 3rd place finish.

Closing out the 46th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Saturday, Tyler placed 9th in his heat giving him one last shot at the $10,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 3 into the 40-lapper, Bruening moved up four positions but came short of a transfer position with a 6tht place outing.

February 18, 2017 - Bruening Begins 2017 Season at Screven
Tyler Bruening kicked off the 2017 racing season on Friday night at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Georgia) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series opening weekend. Drawing 44 Super Late Models for the two-day Winter Freeze VII, Bruening recorded a 7th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Needing a 3rd place finish or better to make the opening night A-Main, Tyler dropped back to a 10th place outing after after he got spun around on the opening lap of the consolation event.

Starting on the sixth-row of his heat on Saturday, Tyler logged a 9th place spot giving him one last shot at the $10,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 3 into the 50-lap A-Main, Bruening came up short with a 9th place finish.
