June 25, 2017 - Podium Finish at Independence Motor Speedway
On Thursday night Tyler Bruening made his debut in the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour for the $5,000-to-win A-Main at Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Illinois). Drawing 31 cars for the eighth stop of the tour, Bruening came up one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 6th place outing. Starting on the front row of his B-Main, Tyler scored a runner-up finish behind Billy Drake locking him into the 17th-starting position for the feature. Gaining five spots in the 40-lapper, Bruening reeled in a 12th place finish.

After taking Friday off, Tyler headed to Independence Motor Speedway (Independence, Iowa) on Saturday for the Webb Concrete Midseason Championship. Moving up three spots in his heat race, Bruening landed a 4th place finish positioning him 12th on the starting grid for the feature. Wheeling his way into a podium spot, Tyler Bruening charged through the field nine spots in the 25-lap affair to place 3rd behind Travis Smock and Sean Johnson with Jon Passick and Rory Metcalf completing the Top 5 finishers.

Sunday brought Bruening to Dubuque Speedway (Dubuque, Iowa) for the regular night of racing. Passing three cars in his heat race, Tyler posted a 3rd place finish locking him into the 9th-starting spot for the A-Main. Falling one spot shy of a Top 5 finish, Tyler Bruening gained three spots to place 6th.

June 10, 2017 - Bruening Attends Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora
Powering the Skyline Materials #16 Super Late Model, Tyler Bruening kicked off the 23rd annual Dirt Late Model Dream on Thursday night at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio). With 79 Super Late Models registered in for the UMP DIRTcar sanctioned weekend, Bruening recorded a 9th place finish in his heat race transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night preliminary feature. Sending the Top 5, Tyler slipped back to a 15th place outing ending his night early.

The following night for the final round of preliminary features, Bruening posted a 8th place finish in his heat race giving him one last shot at the $10,000-to-win show with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place in the Top 4, Tyler logged a 13th place finish shifting his focus to Saturday’s 23rd edition of the Dirt Late Model Dream. (DIRTSTAR photo)

Rolling off 11th in his heat race on Saturday, Bruening improved four spots to place 7th but was still short of a transfer spot, sending him into the consolation event. Transferring the Top 4 into the $100,000-to-win finale, Tyler Bruening dropped back to a 18th place outing in the B-Main bringing an early end to his weekend.
