February 16, 2019 - Bruening Kicks Off DIRTcar Nationals at VSP
1Monday night saw Tyler Bruening return to action at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) for the 48th annual DIRTcar Nationals. In a field of 42 cars, Bruening gained three spots in his heat race to place 5th. Grabbing the 3rd and final transfer position in his B-Main, Tyler earned the 22nd-starting position for the opening night feature. After Mother Nature wiped out Tuesday’s event, Bruening was one of 44 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series signed in on Wednesday. Holding his spot in his heat race, Tyler logged an 8th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Needing a 3rd place finish or better to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Bruening came up short with a 8th place outing.


1The following night, Bruening followed up a 5th place finish in his heat with a 10-lap consolation victory. Starting the feature in 19th, Tyler dropped five spots in the 50-lapper to place 24th.

Returning on Thursday evening, Tyler dropped one spot in his heat race to place 6th. Transferring the Top 3 out of the B-Main and into the main event, Bruening fell short with a 7th place finish.

Wrapping up the 48th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Saturday, Bruening posted a 6th place finish in his heat giving him one last shot at the $10,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 3 into the show, Tyler logged an 8th place outing bringing an early end to his speedweeks.

February 9, 2019 - Top 10 Finish in 2019 Debut at Screven Motor Speedway
1Tyler Bruening kicked off the 2019 season on Friday night at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Georgia) for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series season opener. Drawing 39 cars for the two-day Winter Freeze IX, Bruening fell two spots short of a transfer position in his heat with a 6th place finish. Coming in 2nd behind Kyle Hardy in his B-Main, Tyler earned the 20th-starting position for the opening night feature. The following night, Tyler recorded the 11th fastest time in his qualifying group before placing 7th in his heat. Needing a 3rd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $10,000-to-win finale, Bruening fell one spot short with a 4th place outing.
