August 29, 2020 - Bruening attends Rumble by the River at Port Royal
Tyler Bruening made the trek to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Thursday afternoon to take part in the Rumble by the River. With 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand for the three-day event, Bruening followed up the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Jimmy Owens. 1After Mother Nature wiped out Friday night’s program, Tyler returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday afternoon for the $15,000-to-win finale. Coming one spot shy of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth place finish, Bruening transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the main event. Scoring a runner-up finish behind Rick Eckert, Tyler earned the 21st-starting position for the A-Main. Gaining three spots in the 50-lapper, Tyler Bruening logged a 21st place finish.

August 22, 2020 - 18th place finish in Topless 100 at BMS
1On Thursday afternoon Tyler Bruening returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) to kick off the Comp Cams Topless 100 weekend. Drawing 48 cars for the event co-sanctioned with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS), Tyler dropped one spot in his heat race to place fifth. Needing to place fourth or better in his B-Main to make the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Bruening logged a seventh place finish.

For another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday evening, Bruening came one spot shy of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth place finish. Posting a runner-up spot in his B-Main behind Shannon Babb, Tyler locked into the 22nd-starting position for the A-Main. With preliminary results from Thursday and Friday setting the grid for the main event on Saturday night, Tyler was 26th in overall preliminary points, sending him into the B-Main. With a provisional already secured into the main event, Bruening elected to scratch from his 15-lap consolation event. With $40,000 on the line in the feature, Tyler Bruening improved five spots in the 100-lap affair to register an 18th place finish.

August 15, 2020 - Bruening attends four-day LOLMDS event at Florence
1Tyler Bruening was one of 53 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) on Wednesday afternoon for the 34th annual Ralph Latham Memorial. Fading one spot in his heat race to finish sixth, Bruening transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Failing to place second or better, Tyler earned a provisional into the show. With $12,000 on the line, Bruening gained four spots in the 50-lapper to register a 21st place outing.

The following night for the North/South Shootout, Tyler came one spot shy of a transfer position in both his heat race and B-Main, forcing him to rely on a provisional into the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Improving four spots in the 50-lap affair, Bruening logged a 20th place finish.

Locked into the 13th-starting position for the $50,000-to-win Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 on Saturday evening, Tyler held on to an 18th place outing after bringing out a caution on lap 13.

August 8, 2020 - Podium finish at West Liberty Raceway
1Saturday night found Tyler Bruening in action at West Liberty Raceway (West Liberty, Iowa) piloting his Skyline Motorsports No. 16 Late Model. Picking up a heat race victory over Brian Harris, Bruening locked into the ninth-starting position for the feature. Breaking into a podium spot, Tyler improved six positions to place third behind Brian Harris and Andy Eckrich with Dave Eckrich and Jonathan Brauns rounding out the Top-5.

August 2, 2020 - Tyler Bruening finds victory lane at Dubuque Speedway
Tyler Bruening capitalized on a last-minute decision to race at the Dubuque (Iowa) Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday, earning his third win of the 2020 season.

Driving the Skyline Motorsports No. 16 Bennett Explosives/ Bruening Rock Products/ Capital Race Cars Late Model, Bruening swept the racing program at the 3/8-mile oval.

"We’re using this time off from the Lucas tour to stay close to home and shake the car down,” Bruening said. “It felt good to be back in Victory Lane at Dubuque Speedway. Our team is working really hard in the shop and at the track. We’ll be at West Liberty on Saturday and then turn our focus to having a strong outing at Florence.”

Passing six cars in his heat race to pick up the win, Tyler locked his spot into the redraw. Receiving the third-starting position for the feature, Bruening held off a charging Justin Kay to capture the win over Kay, Mick Marolf, Darrel DeFrance, and Ron Klein.
